The wiring for the neutral safety switch goes through its own sealed hol in the firewall, just above the engine ignition and instrument main disconnect. then there are two 2-pin connectors, one for the safety function and on for the backup lights (if you have them - optional in '65). the wiring then snakes back down along the top of the tranny to the safety switch on the drivers' side.

Hi all, I recently bought a 1999 Mustang GT body that had an automatic in it, along with a 4.6l engine and T45 transmission out of a 2000. I've pretty much gotten all of it together, but from what I understand, I have to do some splicing to get the reverse lights to work, and also jump the neutral safety switch on the automatic transmission harness so it will start with the manual.

I am installing the American autowire complete harness for 65 Mustang coupe six cylinder, and while I was removing the original harness I accidentally cut the neutral safety switch wiring that goes through the firewall above the engine harness. Now I don't know how or what I'm supposed to reconnect, and I can't find any wiring diagrams that help.
