The 1978+ alternator T-connector contains L wire and S wire. If you have F, N wiring, it's the wrong alternator. L: connects to CHG lamp in dashboard. S: connects to IGN circuit in ignition switch (or to battery for Datsun B310) 1. The S terminal should be 12V hot when key is turned to IGN
