If you are using the E4OD's harness then you need to put the rotating switch that you pulled from the side of the E4OD in the position it would be in for neutral or park. I don't know of a way for your reverse lights to work effectively after a swap if you use the E4OD harness.

For heavy loads and long hauls I would go with the E4OD and use the Bauman controller then you do not have to worry about a new wiring harness and you have transmission that was designed to tow with. Granted you are out the money for a new transmission, torque convertor, controller, new engine computer, and possibly a new or shortened rear driveshaft.
