Hi all, has any one got the wiring diagram for a hobby Dometic converter, can any one tell me if the 12volt output is ok for charging battery as the charging lead is not fitted to the terminal marked battery, so I think someone has connected to the normal 12 volt supply, not to the charging supply (I don't know if the dometic2145100 actually has a battery charging line,) so can any one help ...

The Hobby manuals only supply a very basic diagram of the wiring with no detail. Unfortunately the 2005 models were supplied with the earlier manual which has adifferent transformer and circuits. Does the 'van have battery and charger because unless the caravan was ordered ex-factory with a battery and charger these would have been fitted after delivery so alterations may have been made to the ...

In older caravans, wires carrying lighting currents to the rear of the caravan often run beneath the floor, where there is an increased risk of damage and general wear and tear. If a wire is damaged, or open-circuited, replace the cable with one of a similar, or better, specification. Replace damaged lamps with a like-for-like unit.

The Hobby wiring diag. is not at all helpful unless you are familiar with German circuit diags. and even then your van's circuit may be wired slightly differently at the connector block, as mine was. If you have a Hobby caravan, I believe Hobby sell a conversion unit and kit that allows you to fully integrate a 12 volt system into the caravans existing wiring and controls. I would suggest if you have a Hobby to go this route. I believe it’s around £1200 for the kit + installation. Otherwise you will need to go through the following steps> 1.
