I have a trunk mount battery, a kill switch (it has both large and small terminals) and a Power Master 140 amp alt. So far I have the large battery cables run. I have a length of 4 AWG wire from the alt to the battery side of the kill switch (about 15 feet long) I can set this alt up as a 3 wire or a 1 wire.

Using a double pole kill switch. Run your battery and alternator charge wire to one side. Run the wire or wires that power the car to the other side. On a lot of cars, you can run the alternator straight to the battery and run a typical battery wire to the starter as well.

On these vehicles, cut the field wire (normally dark blue) between the alternator terminal (marked F and/or 2) and where the wire disappears into the wiring loom on top of the engine. Connect a new 14 gauge wire to the wire from the alternator field terminal, and route it to the rear to the new master disconnect switch.
