I can pick up a Samick 5 string for a couple hundred dollars. I'm not real familiar with their lines. This one has a p bass type pick up as well as the j pick up. I've never had a 5 string so I thought it might be a decent one to try out. It comes with a case as well. Any opinions? I searched on this forum, but most of the posts were old.

Opinions on Samick basses?Years ago I had a Samick P-Bass copy and it was ok. Anyway I tried one of their 5 string models and it played so-so, had treble cut/boot and bass cut/boot, with two volumes. PU's unknown? Anyway it played alright, but they wanted $650 dollars for that thing. I can justify $300 for it. It played like a $300 dollar bass not $700 dollar bass.
