The P pickup has 4 wires, which I've never seen before (in my limited experience): 2 black, 1 red and 1 blue. Assuming that the wiring was never modified from stock, both black wires and the red wire were grounded to the neck pickup pot, and the blue wire sent to the input of that pot (the lower middle lug of a blend pot).
